Read More 3 comments Which iOS 6 Features Work on Which Devices

Yesterday, Apple unveiled iOS 6 with over 200 new features for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. And while compatible devices with iOS 6 include the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad, and fourth-generation iPod touch, a number of new features in the software update, such as Flyover and FaceTime over 3G, are limited to a just a few iOS devices only.

Fortunately, MacRumors has put together a useful chart that shows exactly which iOS 6 features are compatible with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and new iPad. Keep in mind that none of the features are compatible with the iPhone 3GS, despite the fact that the 3-year-old smartphone is eligible to run iOS 6. The fourth-generation iPod touch also lacks Flyover, turn-by-turn navigation, and — for obvious reasons — FaceTime over 3G.

Late reproduction extends offspring's life?

The offspring of fathers and grandfathers who reproduced later in life could enjoy life-extending genetic benefits, including being able to father children at an older age, a new study suggests.

Researchers at Northwestern University believe the process represents an unusually rapid evolutionary adaptation in which telomeres -- DNA found at the ends of chromosomes -- lengthen, which is thought to promote healthy aging.

"If your father and grandfather were able to live and reproduce at a later age, this might predict that you yourself live in an environment that is somewhat similar -- an environment with less accidental deaths or in which men are only able to find a partner at later ages," said Dan Eisenberg, lead author of the study.

"In such an environment, investing more in a body capable of reaching these late ages could be an adaptive strategy from an evolutionary perspective."

After analyzing the DNA of 1,779 young adults and their mothers in the Philippines, researchers found that children of older fathers not only inherit longer telomeres, but that the effect is cumulative across generations.

The researchers do not advise men to reproduce at later ages, as other research has shown that doing so raises the risk of passing on genetic mutations that can cause miscarriages or other health problems.

Co-author Christopher Kuzawa said more research would be necessary to see if the longer telomeres inherited from older fathers and grandfathers reduce the health problems and ailments that come with age.

"Based upon our findings, we predict that this will be the case, but this is a question to be addressed in future studies," he said.

The study appeared in the June 11-15 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

'Glee' Season 4: Cast to Return -- But for How Long?

Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly told The Hollywood Reporter during this week's upfront in New York that members of the swelling cast -- which counts a graduating class that includes Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Dianna Agron and Mark Salling, among others -- are in talks for the duration of their return and whether they'll be signed on as series regulars for 22-episode deals or recurring roles. Deals are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The musical drama's Season 3 finale, airing Tuesday, in which the seniors bid farewell to McKinley High and some -- potentially Michele, Monteith and Colfer -- head to New York for a show-within-a-show fourth year, will set up what the executive sees as a creative renaissance for Season 4 as the series moves to 9 p.m. Thursdays.

The executive reaffirmed that Riley, whose recent tweet (which she later clarified) led to a wave of speculation that her time with Glee had come to an end, would indeed be back.

In fact, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told Vulture that he met with the cast and gave them the opportunity to move on and do other things.
"I said to them, 'Anybody who wants to stay on the show will stay on the show,'" he told the site, which confirmed that McKinley faculty members played by Emmy winner Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Jayma Mays would all return for Season 4.

"It doesn't mean everyone will be doing 22 episodes, but everyone wants to stay in our family to make sure those actors know that if they want to have a home, they have a home," Murphy said. "If they want to explore new and different things while also having a home, that is also an option."

Glee went through a similar experience last season when recurring actors Harry Shum Jr. and Darren Criss were promoted to regular status for Season 3, while the series regular option on Chord Overstreet was not picked up. Overstreet parted ways with the series but returned in a recurring capacity midway through the season.

The cast has continued to find success in projects outside of the Fox musical. Criss (a junior on the series) has gone on to Broadway, and Michele, Agron, Monteith and Colfer all have growing careers on the big screen (the latter two active as producers as well).

While McKinley will be down a handful of New Directions' founding members in its Ohio-based story, Glee is poised to add cast members for its fourth season, including guaranteeing the winner of Oxygen's reality competition The Glee Project a seven-episode arc. (This season saw four Glee Project standouts appear, with Damian McGinty going on to guest-star in more episodes than his guaranteed seven.)

Add to that the expectation that the New York setting could potentially add more cast beyond Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson, who have both signed on for major arcs. (Murphy told THR that Hudson likely will begin her arc in the Season 4 premiere, with Parker appearing a few episodes afterward.)

Setting recurring roles for some castmembers could prove a wise and cost-effective move for the series and sibling studio 20th Television.

Next week's Season 3 finale will likely shed additional light on which Glee characters could have larger and recurring roles.

Glee Season 4: Quinn Might Not Be Back! Dianna Agron’s Future Seems VERY Uncertain

For the record, we still don’t have an official announcement as to whether or not Dianna Agron (Quinn) will be back for Glee Season 4. There are still only three actors officially confirmed: Lea Michele (Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt), and Cory Monteith (Finn).

Still, based on all the new info emerging, we’d say that poor Dianna’s chances of sticking around another year are looking slimmer and slimmer by the moment!

First of all, there’s the fact that Quinn is a graduating senior. She’s headed away from McKinley — and her new home base of New Haven, Connecticut, will be hours away from Season 4’s possible secondary show location NYC.  The chances of working her into either location seem pretty slim.

On top of that, when co-star Jane Lynch (Sue) spoke with E! Online at Glee’s TV Academy on May 1, the actress gave some pretty convincing evidence that Quinn might be off the show for good.

Jane is currently filming Glee’s big Season 3 finale, and she even mentioned that she just filmed her last scene with Dianna.

"It caught me by surprise. It was kind of emotional doing my last scene with Dianna, and it really just caught me by surprise at how moving it was. She is just amazing and just a really nice person too. It was like saying goodbye to Dianna, which is a sad thing to do."

Wait a second. If Dianna’s coming back next year, there’d be little reason to get so emotional over “saying goodbye.” But if she really is leaving for good... that’s a different story.

Of course, none of this is confirming anything. Jane could simply be talking about an end-of-season goodbye, not a final one. That’s what we’re hoping for, anyway!

Yet based on a recent tweet from Dianna herself, signs seem to indicate that her departure from Glee could be much more permanent. In a tweet on April 30 — just days ago — Dianna announced that she was donating over $12,000 to The Trevor Project. She wrote, "Glad I had a job so that I can match all of your GENEROUS donations to @TrevorProject! What a gift you all, over 12,000! Wonderful."

Glad she HAD a job? Not have?! Look, we know it could be just a simple mistake in typing, but you can still consider us sufficiently freaked out.

What do you think: Is Dianna really be written off Glee next season? We can barely even stand to ponder the thought!

No Mercedes in Glee Season 4? Amber Riley’s Tweets Spark Major Concern

Amber Riley at the TV Academy Glee Screening in Hollywood on May 1, 2012
To make a long story short: We still don’t know very much about who gets to come back for Glee Season 4.

So far, only Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn) and Chris Colfer (Kurt) are confirmed as returning, but there’s no guarantee how many episodes they’ll actually be in. (That said, the future for these three doesn’t look too dire. Lea recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the formula for next season is“everything you want to see.”)

So while Glee seems to have made a home for these three graduating seniors, the future of the rest of the high school grads seems much more up in the air.
Just last week, a comment from Jane Lynch (Sue) set the internet abuzz with rumors that Dianna Agron (Quinn) might be off the show for good. Now, a new tweet from Amber Riley (Mercedes) is sparking new gossip about the very same thing.

On the afternoon of May 9, Amber tweeted, “That's a wrap on Amber Riley! Just closed a chapter in my life, the only thing I've known day in and day out for three years. I'm going to miss the whole Glee family, seeing them everyday!

Wait a second. She just closed a chapter in her life!? Does this mean she’s saying goodbye for good?

Amber continued, “I have so many brothers and sisters now :) But I am looking forward to a much needed and deserved summer vacation! SCHOOL'S OUT Glee Kids! Let's play!
If you ask us, it really could go either way. Amber could be tweeting about her last day on set EVER, or she may just be expressing her sadness about the end of Season 3.

Fans must have been freaking out on Twitter, because Amber quickly tweeted an update, saying, “Stay tuned to see what's next for Mercedes ;)

So what is next for Mercedes? Could she be moving to California after graduation to pursue her Hollywood dream — never to be heard from on Glee again? Or might she, too, be popping back up on the show from time to time?

Philippines will now implement the K-12 Education System

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno S. Aquino III Tuesday led the launch of the K + 12 Basic Education Program of the Department of Education (DepEd), which would add two years to the country's basic education and increase capabilities among students who would opt to work after graduating from high school.

This, he said, is part of his administration's efforts to reform the system of education in the country.

Aquino said that instead of compressing students' learning in a 10-year basic education, the new program would enable students to further appreciate what they have learned with an additional two years of education.

Philippines Ranks 1st in the best countries Business English Proficiency... Something worth being proud of.

Well, people will now have to think twice before mocking Pinoys' use of the English language.

The Philippines was named the world’s best country in business English proficiency, even beating the United States, according to a recent study by GlobalEnglish Corporation.

GlobalEnglish has released early this month the results of its annual Business English Index (BEI), the only index that measures business English proficiency in the workplace.

Teen arrested for having sex with Pit bulls

Newton County, GA - It has happened yet again - the unconscionable act of bestiality.
This time, the victims were two female Pit bulls owned by  Dr. Cathryn Lafayette.
According to KCTV5 News, Lafayette hired a teen to help clean her dogs' kennels and do other odd jobs around her property in exchange for paying tuition to help the young man receive his GED.
But it turns out that 19 yr-old Bernard Archer was doing much more than his employer asked for.
Instead of just handling odd jobs and cleaning, Archer was engaging in sexual acts with two of Dr. Lafayette's female Pit bulls.
Lafayette did not believe the responding officers when they initially notified her. Wrapping one's head around such a deranged concept is no easy task.
But when the Newton County Deputies showed her video footage captured by her neighbors, there was no denying that the teen had indeed victimized the woman's dogs.
According to KCTV5, the footage captured Archer's antics - Lafayette describes what she saw...
"And it showed him on his knees inside the kennel with my dog. He was on his knees like he was a dog,"
Archer was arrested on two counts of bestiality - felony charges in the state of Georgia.
He had just started his "job" on Saturday.
Watch the video footage here. (Please note, this takes you to the news clip - NOT to the footage of the teen and the dog)

Dianna Agron on THE VIEW 04/09/2012

Dianna's Interview a day before the resume of the season break of Glee Season 3

Glee Season 4: Rory, Santana, Puck, and Sam — Is Their Return Official Yet?

We are so very happy to know that some of our favorite McKinley High students will be back for Season 4, but we have to wonder... What about the rest of them?

Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez) spilled the news via Twitter that she’s likely making it back for another year, saying, “Super excited about working on glee for another year! Season 4 is going to be great! Ryan just filled me in on the new ideas. #iheartglee.” [Note: Her return still has not been officially announced.]

Plus, last we checked there were more seniors in this glee club than Rachel, Finn, Santana and Kurt... And they include in their numbers some serious fan favorites!! Brittany! Puck! Quinn! MIKE CHANG!!

E! Online caught up with Mark Salling (Puck) at the TCAs in January and it sounds like so far the fates of the remaining players might be uncertain. Mark told E!, “It’s just nice to really be able to work with the people I do and have the job I do. I feel blessed. And if they want to have me back, I’d love to.”

Hmm, that sounds like prime question-evading, if you ask us! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Ryan Murphy has up his sleeve for them... (and hope they are included in the “revolutionary” twist that’s coming for the rest of the graduating seniors!)
Sam Returns to New Directions in Glee Season 3, Episode 8, "Hold On to Sixteen"
Photo:
Chord Overstreet makes his long-awaited return to Glee, armed with his guitar, of course.
Meanwhile, a couple of part-timers are also awaiting news on their Glee futures! Both Chord Overstreet  (Sam) and Damian McGinty (Rory) told Zap2it that they have yet to hear if they’ll be sticking it out for season four, but are hoping for the best. “I’ve never heard my grade mentioned, so who knows,” Chord told them when asked about his currently-recurring character, Sam. “Right now I’m just taking it day by day.”

And Damian — never one to back down from declaring his excitement for all things Glee — added, “I’m working hard and I want to become a series regular next year. That’s what I’m aiming towards. Haven’t heard anything yet.”

We’re pretty sure keeping their familiar faces in the mix while all the transition ensues at the start of next season would be a wise choice — but who knows what Ryan Murphy has planned! And if  the other seniors aren’t guaranteed spots in the action, what can we imply about the roles that the returning seniors will have?? So many questions!

Green Tea Can Help Recovery in BodyBuilding

Green Tea Cup
ChefMD John La Puma reports that weightlifters who drink green tea are able to recover faster from the oxidative stress that occurs after workouts.
“Athletes who drank the green tea had less damaging lipid hydroperoxide and more protective polyphenols in their blood before and after exercise. Another key finding was a 37 percent higher post-exercise level of a protein called glutathione, which helps protect the body from oxidative stress caused by damage from free radicals. The researchers concluded that green tea provided significant benefits for sports participants.”

Facebook acquires photo sharing app Instagram for $1 billion

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg just announced that the social network has acquired photo-sharing app “Instagram” for $1 billion. Instagram’s CEO Kevin Systrom also made a statement through the company’s blog and confirmed it will “be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network.”
Zuckerberg’s full announcement is below, and Facebook’s official press release is here:
I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.
For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we’ll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests.
We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram’s strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.
That’s why we’re committed to building and growing Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.
We think the fact that Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an important part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.
These and many other features are important parts of the Instagram experience and we understand that. We will try to learn from Instagram’s experience to build similar features into our other products. At the same time, we will try to help Instagram continue to grow by using Facebook’s strong engineering team and infrastructure.
This is an important milestone for Facebook because it’s the first time we’ve ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don’t plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.
We’re looking forward to working with the Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences we’re going to be able to build together.

Number coding lifted in Metro April 2 to 9 2012

THE number-coding scheme for motor vehicles will be lifted from April 2 to April 9, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Wednesday.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the agency decided to implement the weeklong suspension of the vehicle-reduction scheme to facilitate fast and efficient travel to and from the metropolis during Holy Week.

“With the ongoing summer break, traffic impact by the lifting of the number-coding scheme would be minimized,” Tolentino said.
The suspension of the number-coding scheme is just among the measures taken by the MMDA to ensure the smooth observance of the Lenten season under the overall Oplan Metro Alalay Semana Santa that was activated on March 23.

Apple Inc. is 36 Years Old Today

Here’s a fun fact that you probably didn’t expect on April Fools’ Day: Apple Inc. is 36 years old today, having been founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak on this day in 1976. In its early days, Apple had quite the bumpy road when they were working to build their operating system and Microsoft was also just getting started with theirs. In addition to that, the founders of Apple had been working hard to release their first consumer PC sporting a graphical user interface on January 19th, 1983; this was the Apple Lisa.

Since then, a lot happened. The Macintosh was released in 1984 accompanied by the historical “1984″ commercial, followed by Jobs leaving the company in 1985. Then they entered the portable computer market with the PowerBook in 1991, but ultimately things went downhill from there — until Jobs returned in late 1997. After that, they introduced many of today’s products including the iMac and iPod, followed by the MacBook, iPhone, and finally the iPad. It has been a long journey to today and Apple’s latest generation of devices has proven to be their most lucrative yet. So the question is, what will they do next? Tell us what you think in the comments.

World's Smallest Dog

Beyonce, a Dachshund mix female puppy, is seen here being hand fed in this March 10, 2012 handout photo. Beyonce, who weighed just 1 ounce and could fit into a teaspoon when found, could be the world's smallest dog, according to animal rescuers in Northern California who found her abandoned in San Bernardino, California.
